Run for Hope 2026 · Education Access Project

More than a run. A movement to keep children in school.

On 29 November 2026, Karura Forest hosts Run for Hope — bringing individuals, corporates, and communities together around one clear goal: keeping 100 children in school for the entire 2027 academic year.

About the project

One clear goal: no child forced out of school by financial barriers.

Led by Mercy of Hope Foundation, Run for Hope 2026 brings together individuals, corporates, and communities to raise funds and awareness in support of vulnerable children across Kenya.

With a fundraising target of KES 3,000,000, the project combines community action, storytelling, and direct intervention to create lasting educational impact — funds raised are channeled directly toward school fees and essential learning needs.

Why this matters

Children are not dropping out because they lack potential — they lack resources.

Our work in communities such as Kibera and Mathare has revealed a harsh reality: across underserved communities, many children face disruptions in their education for reasons entirely outside their control. Run for Hope exists to change that narrative.

Our approach

A three-phase impact project — not just one morning.

01

Pre-event

June – November 2026

We identify and profile the children who need support across five counties, while mobilizing support through storytelling, partnerships, and fundraising campaigns.

02

The run

29 November 2026

Karura Forest hosts a vibrant community of participants united for a cause — every runner and walker turning one morning of movement into school fees and learning materials.

03

Post-event impact

December 2026 – 2027

Funds raised are channeled directly toward school fees and essential learning needs. We track progress, ensure accountability, and share real impact stories with our community.

Community & SME involvement

Run for Hope also creates opportunities for small and growing businesses to be part of the movement. Through curated goodie bags and marketplace opportunities, SMEs are able to:

  • Showcase their products
  • Connect with new audiences
  • Contribute to a meaningful cause

This ensures that impact extends beyond education into community empowerment and economic inclusion.

It's about standing for something bigger.

Run for Hope is not just about running — it is about ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a future.

Together, we can turn every step into a chance for a child to stay in school.

Register for Run for Hope 2026, partner with the campaign, or support a child directly — every contribution moves us closer to 100 children in school for 2027.
