Run for Hope 2025 brought together runners, walkers, volunteers, and corporate partners at Karura Forest for a single purpose: keeping children in school. The event was Mercy of Hope’s flagship annual fundraiser, and it exceeded expectations.
“When you run for someone else’s future, every step feels different.”
More than a run
The event featured a 5K and 10K route through Karura Forest, a kids’ fun run, live music, and partner exhibition stands. Sponsors like Ray of Hope Supermarket provided support and visibility. But the heart of the day was the stories shared on stage — students whose education had been funded through previous events, volunteers who had seen the impact firsthand, and community leaders who spoke about what sustained support means.
Every shilling to education
100% of the fundraising proceeds went directly to tuition fees and school supplies for sponsored students. The run also served as a recruitment moment — new volunteers signed up, corporate partners expressed interest in long-term engagement, and the broader community saw Mercy of Hope in action, not just in words.
